TrackCore User Group 2011: 20 Hospitals Gather to Discuss Tissue Compliance
"We had a lot of positive feedback from participants, and our users were excited to hear about the upcoming features and future improvements we're making to TrackCore." said James Casavant, Chief Technology Officer.
Scott Brubaker, Chief Policy Officer of the American Association of Tissue Banks (AATB), provided the keynote address, "Expectations When Handling Tissue Grafts." Mr. Brubaker has led the AATB since 2004, serving as a liaison with the FDA, CDC and other professional organizations.
The featured educational session on "Bridging the Gap between Biologics and Compliance," was led by Phil Cearley. He is an Allograft Consultant with the Musculoskeletal Transplant Foundation and is a Certified Tissue Banking Specialist with 10 years of experience in the medical industry.
Participants also heard from fellow TrackCore users, Terri Stec and Dave Border, who presented on their own experiences in using TrackCore, focusing on the TrackCore implementation process and how TrackCore enables continuous readiness for inspections.
Information on the TrackCore User Group for 2012 will be announced early next year.

LPIT Signs Agreement with VHA Mountain States and Exempla Health goes “live”
LPIT's first Mountain States customer has been successfully using TrackCore for 3 months. Exempla Health, located in Denver, CO, achieved a TrackCore record by being one of the fastest healthcare systems to implement TrackCore. TrackCore was live in all three Exempla Health facilities within 90 days of signing the contract.

University of Missouri Successfully Goes “Live” with TrackCore
Columbia Regional Hospital, the Orthopaedic Institute and the University Hospital are now on the path to total compliance with the standards set forth by the Joint Commission.
The University’s medical experts have found the transition to tracking implants and tissue via technology easy. There are no more tedious forms to write on or paper copies to file. TrackCore does it all, providing electronic forms and storing data in a system with point and click accessibility.
The University chose to interface their Cerner SurgiNet EHR with LPIT’s TrackCore software by using Lawson’s Cloverleaf Secure Courier to send HL7 messages between the two programs.

LPIT Solutions Announces 2nd Annual TrackCore User Group
Grand Rapids, Mich., April 2011—The TrackCore User Group 2011 (TUG11) will be held at the Rio All Suite Hotel & Casino on September 19-22, 2011 in Las Vegas, Nevada. TUG11 is for all users of TrackCore including IT Directors, Materials Managers, and OR Directors as well as Perioperative, Surgical and Nursing staff.
The event will feature discussions on compliance with The Joint Commission (TJC) and Food & Drug Administration (FDA) standards, TrackCore developments and releases–including TrackCore Mobile and TrackCore RFID, and industry insight on the future of tracking. The TrackCore team encourages all users to attend TUG 11 as it provides an opportunity for interaction and participation with clinical decision makers from across the United States.
New for 2011, attendees may become TrackCore Certified, receive additional training and have an opportunity to earn CEU credits. In addition, TUG11 attendees are invited to submit a poster based on topics related to tissue and implant management. The top qualifying posters will be selected for display in Las Vegas. Bakersfield Using Bi-Directional Interfacing with TrackCore and Meditech
As of late December 2010, inbound ADT messages from the Memorial, Truxtun and Southwest facilities have been flowing via HL7 to TrackCore. ADT messages containing patient data are flowing from Meditech and auto-populating fields within TrackCore’s implant record.
The completed TrackCore Log, containing the tissue or implant data, is then sent back to finalize Meditech’s item implantation record. Additionally, outbound TrackCore inventory consumption messages from these facilities are being received by Meditech via HL7.
